Our Story 關於棲地計畫

Habitation is a nomadic site-specific project explores the concept of home and the modern utopia in different locations with local materials. Each piece reflects on the history, environment, and community of the site, and functions as a social hub /habitat for people and animals. By collaborating with each community, Habitation enhances awareness of the natural and cultural landscapes that responds to the presence of the place.

Home is a verb. and an action. The border of a home is constantly being recreated and altered, which suggests that a sense of home must be constantly in flux and that living being must always working toward home wherever we might be. One must live and perform home in order to define it. Each piece in project Habitation becomes a monument of the home building process, and the process of making reinforces the group coherence.

The community engagement will prioritize in the fields of art, education, environment, human right, mental health, and social justice. Localization is globalization, only when people connect themselves with a place and develop pride and dignity of their own home, then together the tie to a location can extend to the neighbor region and become a global network.

棲地是一個針對特定場域進行的長期遊牧創作計畫，以探討家與當代人類與動物的烏托邦概念為出發點，應地制宜，衍伸出對環境、社區發展、在地歷史、文化脈絡、國土邊界等議題的關注。計畫中依據場域的不同創作出各自獨立的系列作品，單件作品針對在地提出獨立的觀點，期待整體累積的系列作品能提供一個宏觀的角度觀看現代人的生活處境，並推廣行動、參與、與當下的重要性。

實踐方式是在不同公/私場域使用當地蒐集的媒材就地創作暫時、或長期的公共藝術作品，每件獨立作品的製作過程強調與當地社群之交流，並以藝術創作活動為該社區注入新活力、鼓勵人際互動、發展團體關係，除了以藝術的角度加強對自然人文景觀的重視，本計劃更重於反映在地的現狀，以及藉由創作活動所產生的連帶社群效應。

“家”是一個動詞，其邊界總是處於不斷重建與改變的狀態，除卻具體的建築之外，歸屬與認同是形成”家“的隱形元素，是一個生命體必須主動建立的概念，無論是有形的領域界定、或是無形的身份認同。於是本計劃中每一件獨立的作品都是前述定義過程的產物，而在建構作品的過程中與民眾共同投入的時間人力更加強了本計劃強調的中心概念：社群與當下。如何讓作品在創作者與當地居民的日常生活中產生意義？如何由作者自身對家的探討衍生到集體認同，從而產生人際連結與歸屬感？

棲地計劃企圖超越藝術裝置本身，執行有社會目的的長遠計畫，強調與在地社區的互動。未來幾年裡，本計劃將發展成一個全球性的自主活動，以藝術創作為中心發展社區內部營造，以及跨區、跨國自主性交流，旨在發揚地球公民的概念。目前我正積極地在世界各地尋找適合的地點和資源，持續推展這個計劃。本計劃特別著重在藝術、教育、環境、人權、精神健康、社會正義上述幾個課題，也十分歡迎有相同理念的朋友與我交流合作。
